On June 27, ahead of the celebrations dedicated to Youth Day, the Committee for Children and Youth Affairs of the Kazan Executive Committee summarized the results of the "Best Young Teacher of Kazan – 2025" competition. A fair jury selected 19 participants for the in-person stage, representing various universities, technical schools, and colleges of Tatarstan’s capital: associate professors, PhD holders, senior lecturers, and assistants.
During the competition, finalists presented their entries, conducted open classes, answered expert questions, and demonstrated their teaching excellence. Participants were evaluated on their command of modern educational technologies, use of digital tools, audience engagement skills, creativity, and other essential qualities of a contemporary educator.
Following all stages, Alina Almazovna Gayazova, Senior Lecturer at the Department of Theory and Methodology of Foreign Language Teaching at KIU, was declared the winner in the "Best Young Higher Education Teacher" category. In the last academic semester, she had also temporarily and successfully served as Deputy Dean for Research at the Faculty of Linguistics and Intercultural Communication.
It is worth noting that the last victory in this competition by a KIU employee was exactly 10 years ago—in 2015, the winner was Anastasia Alexandrovna Suleymanova, Senior Lecturer at the Department of Foreign Languages and Translation, who is currently completing an internship at a Chinese university. Last year, the honorable second place was secured by Igor Alekseevich Guryanov, who this academic year became Deputy Dean for Research at the Faculty of Hospitality and Design.
Thus, we congratulate Alina Almazovna on this long-awaited and well-deserved victory! We are confident that this achievement will provide additional motivation and inspiration for the successful defense of her PhD dissertation in the upcoming academic year!
We wish her new successes in research, teaching, mentorship, and public engagement!
