“Freshman's Day” and “Success of the Year” are unique events in the life of every student at our university. Now imagine that they take place in one day - this is a truly unforgettable experience. This is what happened on November 9 at the Lenin Culture House at the concert “Life is a game, and you are in it...” The holiday, presented to students by the Department for Youth Affairs, united everything we love - the energy and drive of youth, high-quality production, talented acting ( most of whom are first-year students), creative performances by KIU teams, as well as an intriguing ceremony for awarding the best students with the “Success of the Year” and “Best Academic Group” awards.
"Freshman's Day" is a big event for every first-year student. An opportunity to express yourself and demonstrate your talents to the entire university. And, of course, you need to prepare for this for a long time. Under the guidance of experienced mentors, the students carefully rehearsed the theatrical program, in which everyone played a bright and memorable role. And the results of the preparation were visible on stage - excellent acting, a show perfected to the smallest detail.
In the story, five students find themselves in a video game in which they have to switch bodies and go through difficult tasks. The characters are very different and do not get along well with each other, and therefore the main test for them is the ability to be friends and act together. The freshman, who at first feels out of place on this team, eventually gains wisdom and becomes a leader who proves that there are no better or worse students, and everyone has their own unique talent.
This fascinating story was told, sung and played by our students with extraordinary vividness. Creative performances by such renowned KIU dance groups as Mix Style, Brooklyn, and the Calypso Fashion Theater became the highlight of the concert. And the unexpected debuts of freshmen lit up new stars in the creative horizon of the university.
And, of course, the intrigue of the evening was the announcement of the winners of the “Success of the Year” award and the “Best Academic Group” competition.
"Success of the Year" is an opportunity for students to showcase their achievements and receive well-deserved recognition. Presenting awards and identifying the best of the best - in media, creativity, science, student government, social activities - has become a good tradition of the university and is held annually. For several weeks, our students have been actively preparing, presenting their talents and achievements in various fields.
No less useful for unlocking the potential of students is the “Best Academic Group” competition. Here, teamwork and coordinated work of the entire group becomes important.
Based on the results of all stages, group 2333 (Faculty of Psychology and Pedagogy) was recognized as the Best Academic Group. The guys supported each other in everything and set an example of a truly friendly team.
