Kazan Innovative University has become a regional venue for the Moscow Academic Economic Forum. In 2024, the key theme of the forum is "The Russian Economy 2024+: new solutions in a new reality." The organizers of the forum are the Free Economic Society of Russia, the Russian Academy of Sciences and the International Union of Economists. Within the framework of the forum, a round table on the topic "Modern economy of Russia" was held in KIU: answers to new challenges."
In the first speech on the topic "Sources of growth in the quality of life of the population in the regions of Russia in modern conditions", the moderator of the round table, Doctor of Economics Timur Vladimirovich addressed the issue of sources of well-being of the population and social development in general. The main focus of the report was a discussion on how important the GDP indicator is for determining the quality of life of the population. The speaker drew attention to the fact that in most international studies and reports, GDP per capita is considered as one of the key indicators of the well-being of society. However, he raised the question of how much this indicator really reflects the real state of affairs in the regions of Russia, and whether the quality of life of the population in the region is directly related to its current gross regional product (GRP) per capita. The speaker concluded that the differences in the quality of life of the population in Russian regions are largely determined not by the current level of GRP, but by the reserves of the regions of Russia created as a result of their regional policies in the past. Therefore, the quality of life of the population is not formed simultaneously, but as a result of many years of work and long-term regional policy in this area.
During the round table, the experts who spoke presented an in-depth analysis of key aspects of the current economic situation. They discussed the sources of growth in the quality of life, the specifics of sanctions and anti-sanctions policies, as well as socio-humanitarian dimensions in the image of Russia.
The reports and presentations raised questions from the participants and lively discussions, which indicates a significant interest in the topics under consideration. The participants made a general conclusion about the need for an integrated approach to solving economic and social problems, as well as the importance of involving the academic community in an active discussion and search for solutions for the development of the economy and society as a whole.
