At Kazan Innovative University named after V.G. Timiryasov hosted an award ceremony for foreign students who completed their studies at the preparatory faculty. On June 28, foreign students from different countries of Latin America and Asia gathered in the hall of the Academic Council of KIU to receive the documents on completion of their studies at the preparatory faculty.

It is important to note that 2024 became an anniversary year for the university in many respects. 30 years ago Kazan Innovative University named after V.G. Timiryasov (formerly the Institute of Economics, Management and Law) opened its doors to the first students. 10 years ago, the first students successfully received intensive training in mastering Russian language as foreign at a high level within the framework of the preparatory faculty. Every year, foreign students from different parts of the globe meet at Kazan Innovative University to study the Russian language. Currently, the faculty contingent covers all parts of the world: from east to west.

The award ceremony honored the excellent students and activists who received the highest marks during the entire period of study, proved themselves to be responsible and diligent students and became winners of such all-Russian and international educational, creative and sports events as the Russian Language Olympiad among foreign students " Lobachevsky/RU", Spartakiad among foreign university students in Kazan, Festival of Foreign Students, Innovation Race of Kazan Innovative University and many others. It was these students who gave the University another reason to be proud - they became excellent students in the Total Dictation 2024, scoring the highest scores. This once again proves that teaching Russian language as foreign at Kazan Innovative University named after V.G. Timiryasov is carried out at a high level.

During the event, all participants recalled the most striking moments of the past year at Kazan Innovative University named after V.G. Timiryasov. These are not only interesting moments of exciting learning in the classroom, but also participation in a huge number of cultural and educational events aimed at getting to know Russia, the region of study, traditions, national cuisine and other original aspects of our country. Foreign students distinguished themselves in major events at the republican and all-Russian levels, taking part in the preparation of the traditional holiday of the Republic of Tatarstan Sabantuy, the People's Friendship Parade dedicated to Russia Day, visiting the traveling exhibition "Victory Train", participating in a gastronomic master class on preparing national dishes from a leading chef and many others.

Vice-Rector for Economic Affairs and Strategic Development Lilia Vorontsova and  Associate Professor of the Department of Russian Language and Linguistics Maria Rybakova congratulated all the graduates on the completion of an important stage in their lives and expressed their sincere wishes for success in the future path. Liliya Vorontsova noted the invaluable contribution of teachers to the training and education of foreign students in a new linguistic and cultural environment.

“We are glad that every year a large number of foreign students choose Kazan Innovative University named after V.G. Timiryasov for learning the Russian language. The language of interethnic communication, the language of great cultural figures, art and science of all times,” she concluded her speech on an inspiring note.

The head of the Department of International Relations of KIU, Ekaterina Nikitina, emphasized that learning Russian in 1-1.5 years at such a high level in order to successfully study in higher education programs in Russia is a huge job. But our students are the best because they coped with this big task.

The entire event took place in an atmosphere of incredible friendliness and unity.

Hernandez Perez Zharik Yiseth (Colombia): On this day we thank the teachers and staff of the international department who helped and supported us in the process of learning this interesting language. Thanks to the Russian language, we were able to explore a new world and expand our horizons, meet amazing people who taught us to grow as individuals. Away from our family, we felt at home here.

Trivedi Brijesh Narendra (India): It is a great honor to be present at the award ceremony. We believe that all the efforts that we have spent on learning the language and will use to improve it will help us in mastering our future profession.
