First time in the first year! Freshmen of the University and College (pre-university education) gathered today at the assemblies in the courtyard of KIU academic buildings to celebrate their first day and get to know the University.
Our new students came with their parents and friends to share the joyful moments with them. The territory of the University was lit up with hundreds of smiles, and each first-year student knew: this was one of the most important moments in his life.
The festive atmosphere at the assemblies at the University and College was created by our famous groups: the dance group "Dialogue", the dance project "Brooklyn", the fashion theater "Calypso", the vocal studio "Viva".
Rector of KIU Asiya Timiryasova greeted the new generation of students with a beautiful farewell: "You have come a long way and have become students of Kazan Innovative University. You have entered in a significant year. This is the jubilee, thirtieth year of our University. Exactly thirty years ago, our University opened its doors to the first students, and today we are welcoming you, and I am sure that this is a very good sign, and a bright, rich and interesting student life awaits you.
We have already fallen in love with you. Among ourselves, we call our students our children. Although we understand perfectly well that you are no longer children, but fully formed adults, the word children contains our paternal attitude towards you, so we understand that from today on we are responsible for your professional future.
And for this, our University has created all the conditions: an excellent teaching staff, many opportunities for developing creative, scientific, social, entrepreneurial potential. Do not be shy. Participate, try, win. Remember: each of you is unique, and you can achieve a lot."
Asiya Vitalievna wished the first-year students three things: to love studying and learn something new every day, to love their future profession and to love - close and not so close people, classmates, their university, their city, republic and Russia.
The Deputy Minister of Youth Affairs of the Republic of Tatarstan, KIU graduate Denis Lulakov also gave a welcoming speech to the students. He spoke about his experience of studying at KIU and thanked the University for the wonderful student years surrounded by friends and wise teachers. Denis Lulakov wished the newly minted students success in their studies and noted that KIU is the best place to start the path to success.
The deans of the faculties, the director of the college Yulia Khadiullina, and the chairperson of the Student Council Polina Zaitseva also gave welcoming speeches on this day. Undoubtedly, the assembly became the main event for our first-year students, but there is still more to come! New students will have a journey of several years, during which they will discover their talents, gain new knowledge and one day become graduates.
