On October 10, a group of international students of KIU met with Russian test cosmonaut, Hero of Russia Sergey Kud-Sverchkov. An informative and, at the same time, warm and informal meeting of the students with the Russian cosmonaut was organized as part of the opening of the photo exhibition "BRICS Universe" in Kazan in the National Library of the Republic of Tatarstan.
Test cosmonaut Sergey Kud-Sverchkov told students from India, China, Colombia, Venezuela about space nutrition, daily routine on board and much more.
The photo exhibition "BRICS Universe" is a large-scale project, which presents unique photographs taken by the Heroes of the Russian Federation, pilot-cosmonauts Sergey Kud-Sverchkov and Ivan Wagner from the International Space Station. The exhibition also presents photographs taken by photographers from various countries in UNESCO creative cities located in Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa.
The "space" meeting began with a space film that told viewers about all stages of the flight of Russian cosmonauts to the ISS: from long-term training on Earth before the flight to long-term recovery after returning to Earth. The viewers were most impressed by the part where they showed and told how the ISS is arranged from the inside and what a typical day of an astronaut on board the station is like.
And the "cherry on the cake" of this meeting for international students of KIU was a unique opportunity to try space food that astronauts consume on board the ISS.
At the autograph session, everyone could get a photo of the cosmonaut with a personal signature.
International students who came from various countries of the world, including from BRICS countries, were delighted with the event and inspired by the story of the test cosmonaut, Hero of Russia Sergey Kud-Sverchkov.
